The truck will carefully move the machine across your yard to reach the said stump, where we will then grind the stump down to 12 inches deep, below the surface. This will effectively destroy the root ball.
One can expect any of our stump removal processes to include grinding the stump and plus an additional foot of surrounding ground in order to reach any underlying roots. If necessary, we will grind larger areas to remove any unsightly or annoying surface roots as well.
Small Stump Removal, Bethesda
There is a different process for smaller tree stumps as they are self-propelled and do not need to be moved into place by a pickup truck. The machinery is designed to fit through 36 inch-wide openings and can grind smaller stumps down to 2-6 inches below the surface.
Once we grind the stump into mulch, we will use that mulch to fill the hole back up, and cover the stump hole. Over time, the mulch will settle back into the ground and will nourish the soil.
